Line 1.4, The Heavy Equipment rental period will be for (4) Four years, with the rental equipment being left in place the entire term if agreeable to all parties.

1. Can the equipment be switched out on a yearly basis to keep the city in new equipment every year of the contract at Murphy’s expense?

2. In the specifications no. 3.; MOTOR GRADERS, two (2) Each Propose both 850 Hours per Year & 1,250 Hours per Year per Unit

In four (4) years at the 850 hours per year. Shouldn’t the overage read (4) year, 3,400 hour?

In four (4) years, at the 1,250 hours per year. Shouldn’t the overage read (4) year, 5,000 hour?


3. I don’t find specs for a compact excavator to price this. It’s not in the line items section either.


4. Regarding specifications on wheel loaders, is it John Deere and Cat specific, or are you open to other alternatives?



Answer
1. Yes, they can.


2. The previous contract was not approved by the mayor to enter into a 4-year contract, so it was annual with 3 renewals. (Which maybe how it is done this contract).


3. No, compact excavator this time.


4. We’d look at alternatives, but they’ll have to prove they meet the specifications.
