The University of Nebraska is requesting proposals from qualified bidders to provide all material and labor for constructing a new office and shop facility of approximately 4,700 square feet, containing the new NFarms office areas and conference room, restrooms, heated shop bays, lab space, and parts/tool storage at the existing University of Nebraska Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center (ENREEC) site near Mead, NE. Construction is to be primarily a pre-engineered metal building with concrete curb around the perimeter. Non-load bearing metal stud framing is to be used for interior wall framing. Additional building components will include concrete footings, metal roof, sectional overhead doors, hollow metal and wood doors and frames, aluminum storefront and windows, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installation. Site work includes site grading, paving, parking, sidewalks, and utilities. Utility work includes connection to water main, a new sanitary force main to tie into the existing septic lagoon, new natural gas service coordinated with the local provider, and new electrical service.
