STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

Background: Nebraska-Western Iowa Healthcare System currently utilizes BD Pyxis Medstations. A profile upgrade will allow the hospital to meet Joint Commission requirements. Additional Pyxis products are currently utilized within NWIHCS, and a service contract is in place.

Purpose of Project: CPRS 32B requires providers to enter clinic orders for medications to be given in clinic. The pharmacist must process and verify the order prior to the nurse removing it from the Pyxis and administering it to the patient. Pyxis profile improves patient safety so that the nurse is only allowed to remove the medication ordered for the specific patient after it is verified by a pharmacist. Without profile, nurses can remove any medication for patient administration.

Statement of Work: Profile upgrades for current Pyxis Medistations are required to improve patient safety and meet Joint Commission requirements. Install the profile upgrade to Medstations located in clinics (specific Medstations will be explicitly stated in EER). Install must be coordinated with NWIHCS IT, Biomedical Services, and Pharmacy Staff.

This procurement shall include any necessary networking equipment and infrastructure and licensure to properly integrate into NWIHCS’s existing service contract.

The installations associated with the infrastructure are to be included in this procurement. Installation includes, but is not limited to:

  • Project management and coordination for the install

  • Appropriate NWIHCS staff shall assist as needed to maintain the integrity of VA sensitive information

  • Shipping and handling of the agreed upon equipment and infrastructure and ensuring it reaches the appropriate destination.

  • Placing and any necessary anchoring of the equipment and infrastructure in the agreed upon location within NWIHCS.

  • Installing of all agreed upon software, licensure, IT equipment, and networking infrastructure

  • Installation of these components shall result in a fully functioning system

  • NWIHCS Biomedical Engineering and Information Technology departments shall assist contractors as necessary to ensure the integrity of any VA sensitive information.

  • Confirming the integration with the remaining portion of the current Pyxis systems

Contractor Qualifications: A contractor must be certified to perform the install by the original equipment manufacturer and have at least two prior years of experience performing the install work. Adherence to Joint Commission requirements is applicable to this procurement.

Evaluation and Award Factors: Award shall be made to the offer representing the best value to the Government considering technical and price factors as stated below. Offerors shall include their proposal’s specific information relative to the evaluation factors listed below to ensure proper evaluation of their proposal. The technical evaluation factors shall be considered more important than the remaining.

  • Past performance

  • Specialized skills, expertise, knowledge

  • Ability to integrate the equipment and infrastructure with the un-upgraded portion of the current Pyxis system

  • Price
